A Travellerspoint blog

The countdown begins...

overcast 20 °C

I guess the trip starts with some of the final preparation, which reminds me, I must get my bikini line waxed. I think Chris has already had hers done. Ouch.

I'm starting this on the night before my last day at work with Ladbrokes, well, last day for the time being and before I'm due back on 31st July 2007, 9am. I'll worry about that another time.

Still loads to do before we're off, but no doubt it'll all fall into place. I'll keep fingers crossed in the meantime...and I hope the nice people at the Thai Embassy don't misplace our passports over the weekend...

PS. This 'blog' thing will hopefully become a little more interesting/entertaining going forward - please stick with it, please...

Are you going to keep it short and to the point or do we need to assign a couple of hours of a day to reading each update ?

I will be monitoring any replies made during office hours.... also, Paul can you please post lots of miderable stories and rainy pictures as they may help improve my staff retention rates. Don't know why you want to leave sunny South Harrow anyway?

We'll all be ITG-ing requests to you in your absence ready for your return, although having seen our MDs typing skills some of them might not make much sense! Have a great time!!!

Make your entries as long as possible, it's certainly the tactic I employed! Trouble is once you get going there's so much to tell. I know you will have an excellent time, enjoy yourselves loads and do everything you wouldn't do in Rayners Lane.

How the lure of online Bingo failed to keep you in place at Ladbrokes I do not know. Please feel free to let us know how homesick and ill you are feeling on a daily basis.

Oh and watch out for the Irukandji, a thumbsized jellyfish that lives off the Cambodian coast; it's virtually invisible and in the right conditions can swarm successfully for many miles. Try and avoid it because it kills unless you can get to a qualified doctor within 10 minutes.

Have a really great trip both of you. I hand over Chris' care to you now Paul, so please look after my excellent Boss and friend!! Take care and have loads of fun.
